September 4, 2025

LONDON & FAREHAM, England, Sept. 4, 2025 — Applied Intuition UK today announced a partnership with Kraken Technology Group to use Axion Sim to accelerate the integration, testing, and certification of full autonomy in UK sovereign autonomous surface vessels.

Under the partnership, Kraken Technology Group, a Portsmouth-based company that designs and manufactures fleets of ASVs already in service with multiple allied nations, will use Applied Intuition’s Axion Sim to provide a comprehensive littoral and deep-sea solution to ongoing threats. The company will utilize simulation data for enhanced autonomous operations across the fleet, having already delivered for customers in high sea states, up to Sea State 6, and other complex conditions.

“Our mission at Applied Intuition UK is to bring world-class vehicle intelligence to the UK defence ecosystem,” said Tristam Constant, head of European Government and Defence at Applied Intuition UK. “As we continue to grow, it is deeply important that Applied Intuition UK brings our credible, trusted dual-use solutions to cutting-edge British companies. Partnering with Kraken demonstrates how we can combine proven autonomy technology to deliver real capability advantage to the UK and our allies.”

“We are delighted to partner with Applied Intuition UK to enhance our existing autonomous maritime capabilities,” said Mal Crease, CEO of Kraken Technology Group. “With Applied Intuition’s proven software, we will support the UK and our allies as we continue to provide mission-agnostic, high-performance platforms to protect our seas.”

Applied Intuition UK will deploy its maritime simulation modelling tools, which model the complexities of the operating environment. This includes dynamic sea states, sea spray, sun glare, and diverse lighting conditions — critical factors for safe and reliable unmanned surface vessel performance.

The partnership underscores both companies’ commitment to delivering affordable and effective mass for the UK Armed Forces and allied partners. By combining Applied Intuition UK’s proven autonomy development and Kraken Technology Group’s high-speed maritime engineering, the collaboration aims to deliver mission-ready capabilities across civilian and defence applications.

The announcement comes shortly after Applied Intuition opened its London office, marked by a significant and strategic investment in people, infrastructure, and product development.
