Applied Intuition and AEVEX Aerospace Advance U.S. Army Modernization with Autonomous Launched Effects Demonstration

Joint demonstration showcases scalable autonomy for mission success in contested environments
September 18, 2025

MOUNTAIN VIEW & SOLANA BEACH, Calif., Sept. 18, 2025 — Applied Intuition, Inc., the industry leader for vehicle intelligence, today announced it successfully demonstrated autonomous Launched Effects (LE) capabilities with AEVEX Aerospace, a global leader in cutting-edge unmanned systems, during the U.S. Army’s LE-Short Range Special User Demonstration at Joint Base Lewis-McChord.

Applied Intuition provided the autonomy software powering AEVEX Aerospace’s Atlas Group II LE unmanned aircraft system, showcasing how autonomy enables collaborative, intelligent LE that can detect, identify and strike high-value targets even in disrupted communications and navigation environments. Soldiers immediately took to Applied Intuition’s autonomy software, confidently mission-planning and conducting autonomous scout and strike operations.

“Our joint demonstration proved both the reliability and immediate usability of Applied Intuition’s autonomy software,” said Jason Brown, general manager of Applied Intuition. “By enabling AEVEX Aerospace to rapidly integrate our technology, we showcased how autonomy can accelerate mission success, ease the cognitive load on soldiers and advance the Army’s modernization goals.”

Multiple aircraft were launched simultaneously during the demonstration. After control was handed over to Applied Intuition’s autonomy software, the system executed multiple missions, managing complex swarm operations across multiple platforms and teaming with soldiers to identify, relay, initiate and carry out desired mission objectives.

“This joint demo showed what matters most: soldier-ready autonomy that works under pressure,” said Roger Wells, president of AEVEX Aerospace. “Applied Intuition’s software and our Atlas Group II LE integrated quickly, coordinated across multiple aircraft, and executed the mission in contested environments, accelerating decision cycles and mission success.”

The successful technology demonstration lays the groundwork for enhancing operational capabilities of the U.S. Army, providing a scalable and effective solution to execute complex tasks in collaboration with soldiers.
